Amritam Projects

Our Sadguru Amma, the founder of ‘Embracing the World‘ had initiated the Amritam Project to help the poor & the needy to further Amma’s humanitarian work. Amma had specially designed this “Amritam project” for school students to instil in them the ‘Sevabhav’ & a sense of social responsibility.

Amritam Project was initiated by all the schools with the blessings & under the guidance of our Sadguru to focus in providing the poor with five basic needs of food, shelter, healthcare, education & livelihood. The aim is to fulfil the vision of Amma in spreading Universal Happiness.

With the motive of instilling ‘Sevabhava’ amongst students at a very young age, a dedicated team of staff & students carry out the ‘Amritam Project‘ activities. The idea is to sensitise them towards socio-economic needs of the destitute of the immediate society.

The Students wholeheartedly contribute & participate under the ‘Seva Amritam Project’ – “Handful of rice with a Heartful of Love”. This is a habit building programme in which children donate rice, pulses, oil & collected grains to the needy. They in turn learn huge lessons of ‘Humanity’ in the spirit of giving love from the heart. The collected grocery is usually distributed at the end of every month to the adopted needy families.

Following are the Amritam projects successfully and effectively adopted in our Amrita Vidyalayam
